Change is so Scary, and it Always involves Loss.
Even when it’s a GOOD change!
Even when we choose it!
Some major life transitions that cause us to lose our footing are positive events: college, engagements, weddings, babies!
Buying a new house, selling an old one, starting a new job!
Even ending a toxic relationship is positive.
The wonderful new event is still stressful, however.
A major change inevitably brings up a lot of hard emotional work.
What does this mean for me?
What will I be giving up?
What if this isn’t what I really wanted?
Other life events are just plain hard.
Separation. Divorce. Infertility. Infidelity. Empty nesting. Job loss. Foreclosure. Bankruptcy.
A loved one changing when you don’t want them to.

There are so many changes that you didn’t choose and yet you must adapt to them.
Your emotional response to a life transition is normal, even if it is distressing.
And your response is usually not a mental illness.
Because this might not be a mental health concern, psychotherapy might not be a good fit.
You don’t need a diagnosis. You need support and guidance on how to navigate these changes.
You might not need a clinical psychologist.
You might need a coach.
This is where I might help.

If I believe there are mental health concerns that require therapy and/or medication, you might be encouraged to locate a mental health professional in your area to work with you alongside this coaching journey.
